9 reasons you should hop on Dubai Metro on November 1

  DUBAI – Dubai will mark Public Transport Day on Thursday (November 1) with some exciting activities and prizes for Dubai Metro riders. Here are 9 reasons you should hop on the next train!

1. Join a Guinness World Record attempt

The Roads and Transport Authority will try to break the world record for the mobility of the largest number of multi-national commuters at the Etisalat Metro Station. You can register to participate here.

2. Win prizes worth a total of Dh100,000

On Public Transport Dubai, 5 commuters will win prizes totaling Dh100,000.

3. Win prizes worth Dh50,000

If you are an RTA employee, don’t worry. You will also stand the chance to win cash prizes totaling Dh50,000 if you use the Dubai Metro on November 1.

4. Win social media video challenge

From October 22, university students using public transport can post a one-minute video footage to join RTA’s social media competition. The winners will be announced on Thursday.

5. Triple loyalty points

Each trip on the Dubai Metro will earn commuters triple Loyalty Points on their Nol Plus card.

6. Workshop for people of determination

People of determination (or special needs) will head together on a train trip from Rashidiya Metro Station to Al Jafliya Metro Station where they will hop on a bus to Etihad Museum for a workshop.

7. Free luggage delivery for 100 tourists

One hundred tourists at the airport will be given the chance to have their luggage transported to any place in Dubai for free.

8. Free Nol cards for selected tourists

Selected tourists at the airport will also be offered Nol cards so they can experience traveling around the emirate by metro or bus

9. Nol matching contest

Check the back of your Nol card and find another Nol card holder so you can complete an image of a gift.
