9 Sharjah teens to climb Kilimanjaro
DUBAI – Nine female teenagers from Sharjah are preparing for a mission to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
This is the second time that the Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah is launching an expedition to the 5,895 peak. This time, the teens will start the trek on August 21, according to state news agency WAM.

The Kilimanjaro climb is supported by Sharjah Police Academy, Tilal Properties, Sharjah Sports Council and Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
In February, three Emirati men reached the peak of Kilimanjaro to “show the world the strong will of the people of UAE in overcoming difficulties to achieve high goals”.
Sheikh Saud Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Omar Obaid Al Jahdami and Mohammed Seif Al Shehhi told the media that they trekked for approximately six hours per day.
It took the trio seven days to reach the summit, battling high altitude and diverse terrain.
