90 Dubai doctors awarded 10-year residence visa

DUBAI - Ninety Dubai-based doctors have been awarded a gold card or 10-year residence visa for their efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic. The doctors from Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital were recognized for helping patients in the UAE’s only specialty hospital for children. Dr. Abdulla Al Khayat, chief executive of Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, described the awarding of gold visas to healthcare professionals as a “generous gesture”. “This generous gesture gives us great motivation to continue working tirelessly to provide the highest level of quality care to our young patients and their families,” Al Khayat said. The gold card scheme was launched last year by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Last May, 212 medics were also given gold cards for working on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic. ICA/Expat Media
