Authorities in Abu Dhabi confirmed that an incident at the Habshan gas complex on Wednesday (April 8) was caused by falling shrapnel following a successful interception by air defence systems. Officials said the debris triggered multiple fires within the facility. Emergency teams responded quickly, and operations at the site have been temporarily suspended. Two Emiratis and one Indian national sustained minor injuries in the incident, according to authorities. Authorities said further updates on the Habshan facility will be provided as investigations continue. The update comes as the National Human Rights Institution conducted field visits across affected areas to assess the impact of ongoing attacks in the region. The delegation, led by Dr. Salem Al Neyadi, visited key sites including healthcare facilities, residential communities, and other vital locations. During the visits, officials reviewed efforts to provide essential services and ensure public safety, while also evaluating measures aligned with international human rights standards.
