Five members of an Emirati family from Abu Dhabi were killed in a traffic accident on Monday (January 1), according to Abu Dhabi Police. Police identified the deceased as Mohammed Salem Hadi Al Ameri, his wife, their two daughters and his niece. The accident happened on Al Watan Road, as they were on their way home from Hatta in the evening. Two other people were seriously injured in the accident. Al Watan Road links Hatta in Dubai with Masfout in Ajman and the Al Qour Mountains in Ras Al Khaimah. Police did not give further details about the circumstances surrounding the accident but released a photo of the accident site showing a wrecked vehicle surrounded by rescue and emergency personnel.
