The Abu Dhabi Municipality has launched the “My Clean Vehicle” campaign to tackle the issue of abandoned vehicles across the emirate. Aimed at preserving public spaces and enhancing the city’s aesthetic appeal, the five-day campaign will issue warnings and educate vehicle owners on the consequences of neglecting their cars. Abandoned vehicles left in public areas are subject to a Dh3,000 fine, as well as confiscation, according to Abu Dhabi’s regulations. The municipality hopes to create a cleaner, more appealing cityscape by addressing this issue, especially in residential and commercial neighborhoods. “Our initiative seeks to raise community awareness about the importance of maintaining the city’s image and promoting social responsibility,” a spokesperson for Abu Dhabi Municipality said. Inspectors have been deployed to identify neglected vehicles and to inform owners of the steps they must take to comply with regulations. In addition to penalties, the campaign includes educational efforts on the impact of abandoned cars on the environment and the community. Vehicle owners are encouraged to take proactive steps to avoid fines and contribute to keeping Abu Dhabi beautiful.
