The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has announced new measures to support Emirati married couples, following approval by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The "Rental Assistance for Newlyweds" provides cash assistance of up to Dh75,000 per year for two years and renewable for up to four years, to help couples with renting a home. This is available to Emiratis who do not own property and are earning up to Dh50,000 monthly.
The "Partial Loan Deduction" Offers discounts in loan repayments based on the number of children, with deductions going up to Dh40,000 for families with a sixth child. This applies to those with approved housing loans and whose income ranges between Dh21,000 and Dh50,000 per month.
The "Extending Housing Loan Repayment Period" allows for a maximum of nine years and then an additional three years for every other dependent, from the fourth to the sixth child. This also applies to families whose income tops Dh50,000 a month.
These projects are part of a broader strategy on family growth adopted by Abu Dhabi and form part of a wider drive to boost Emirati family numbers.
Dubai has launched similar programs, and the recent strategy by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid aims at doubling the number of Emirati families within a decade.
