A paramedic with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has been honored for his swift response to an emergency call, which helped save the life of a one-year-old girl. The paramedic, Rabea Farouq Masarwah, provided life-saving CPR instructions to the girl's mother over the phone after the child’s heart stopped beating. The child’s mother called for an ambulance, and Masarwah, demonstrating exceptional professionalism, guided her through the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) process while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. His calm reassurances and precise instructions helped stabilize the child until emergency services reached the scene and transported her to the hospital for further treatment. During a ceremony held to recognize Masarwah’s efforts, Brigadier Mohsen Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of the Emergency and Public Safety Sector, praised the paramedic’s heroic actions. “Masarwah exemplifies the humanitarian values we uphold in our emergency services. His quick thinking and professionalism saved a life,” Al Mansouri said.
