Abu Dhabi Police shared a video footage on Saturday (November 2) capturing two separate accidents caused by reckless drivers who failed to stay in their lanes, highlighting the dangers of sudden lane deviation. Here's the video: In the first footage, a white car was seen crossing road markings without noticing a van in the fourth lane. The van collided with the sedan, causing it to veer off the road, hit the gutter, and then bounce back into its lane. The next footage showed another incident involving a black car speeding and swerving abruptly, nearly colliding with a nearby minivan and a white car in the opposite lane. The vehicle lost control due to its high speed, crashing through road barriers and flipping multiple times. Abu Dhabi Police cautioned motorists against sudden lane changes and urged them to ensure the road is clear before overtaking. They also reminded motorists of the penalties for these offenses: sudden deviation incurs a fine of Dh1,000 and four black points, while wrong overtaking fines start at Dh600 and may reach Dh1,000, depending on the severity of the violation.
