Abu Dhabi chef wins again in Big Ticket, takes home Dh500,000 prize

DUBAI – A private chef in Abu Dhabi has won again in Big Ticket, walking away with a Dh500,000 prize on Wednesday (March 2) in the UAE’s oldest raffle draw. Saidali Kannan first won in Big Ticket in 1998. He has been buying Big Ticket in the last 24 years. Kannan is sharing the prize money with a group of friends who helped him buy the ticket. Kannan bought his winning ticket on February 22. Abdul Majeed, one of his friends who will be sharing the prize, said they have pooled their money to help Kannan buy a ticket to the monthly draws in the last two decades. “I have been sharing tickets almost every month with Saidali for the last 20 years because I believe he’s very lucky. I’ve been doing this for a very long time, and it has finally paid off,” Majeed said. He also hopes to win the grand prize. The grand draw will be held on Thursday (March 3) where the top prize of Dh12 million is up for grabs. ICA/Expat Media
