Residents in Abu Dhabi now have a new evening escape with the launch of a family-friendly night beach along the Corniche, giving the public a chance to enjoy the outdoors after sunset. The Abu Dhabi Municipality announced the opening and shared photos of the new destination, which features a well-lit shoreline equipped with lifeguards to ensure swimmer safety. The Corniche Night Beach also comes with added attractions, including sports courts for volleyball, football, and basketball, making it a hub for both leisure and fitness activities after dark. According to the municipality, the night beach is open to visitors and swimmers from 6am to 10pm on weekdays, with extended hours until midnight on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The beach includes a 1,000-square-metre swimming area, accessible through gates 4 to 6, where families can enjoy the evening breeze and swim under the lights—a refreshing option during the hot summer months. The new addition is part of Abu Dhabi’s expanding lineup of night beach destinations. The move follows Dubai’s successful introduction of night swimming at Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim 1 beaches, all of which were made fully accessible to people of determination last year.
