A man accused of failing to pay Dh44,900 for sports equipment has been acquitted after swearing a decisive oath in court, confirming that he had settled the amount in full. The lawsuit was filed by a plaintiff who claimed the defendant purchased sports equipment for Dh74,900 but only paid part of the amount. While the defendant admitted to buying the equipment, he insisted he had paid the full sum—including Dh45,000 in cash in the presence of witnesses. During the trial, two witnesses supported the defendant’s claim. One of them, a trainer at his gym, testified that he saw the defendant hand over Dh45,000 in cash to the plaintiff. In a key moment, the court asked the defendant to take a decisive oath—a legal mechanism in which the defendant swears under oath that they have fulfilled their financial obligations.
