The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a former employee to pay Dh50,000 in damages after she was found guilty of leaking proprietary company information in breach of a signed non disclosure agreement. The employee had resigned after receiving all dues, and then reportedly sent sensitive internal data to her personal email using her official company address. The company launched an internal investigation, engaging an IT expert who confirmed that the leak originated from the company email account. Initially, the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court fined her Dh30,000. The company appealed, seeking Dh51,000 for both material and moral damages in addition to covering attorney and legal expenses. Ultimately, the appellate court found Dh50,000 sufficient compensation and also ordered the former employee to settle legal fees and related costs.  ICA/Expat Media
