Abu Dhabi has once again secured its position as the world’s safest city, topping the 2025 rankings of Numbeo’s Safety Index. This marks the ninth consecutive year the UAE capital has earned this accolade, cementing its reputation as a global leader in public safety and quality of life. Numbeo, the world’s largest database of user-contributed data about cities and countries, ranked Abu Dhabi first among 382 global cities. The consistent recognition highlights the emirate’s pioneering safety measures and robust law enforcement strategies. The UAE capital’s low crime rate, coupled with initiatives promoting trust and cooperation between residents and law enforcement, has contributed to its enduring top rank. Officials credit community engagement and advanced surveillance systems for maintaining the city’s status as a safe haven. Abu Dhabi has been at the forefront of adopting smart technologies for public safety, including AI-powered surveillance, predictive policing, and an integrated emergency response system. These innovations have not only improved security but also enhanced residents’ confidence in law enforcement. The city’s emphasis on safety has made it a preferred destination for professionals, families, and tourists alike. Its reputation as a secure city also boosts its economic and cultural appeal, attracting talent and investments from around the world. “Abu Dhabi’s consistent recognition as the world’s safest city is a testament to its visionary leadership and collaborative community,” said a representative from the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
