Records compiled by online database Numbeo shows UAE capital has low crime index

  DUBAI - The UAE's capital Abu Dhabi is the safest city in the world, according to latest crime indexes compiled by Numbeo.com. Numbeo is a crowd-sourced global database of reported consumer prices, perceived crime rates, quality of health care and other statistics. Numbeos' crime index list showed that the crime index score of Abu Dhabi is 14.41 while Dubai's was 19.50, so both cities are in the "very low crime" category. A Numbeo.com spokesman said: "We consider crime levels lower than 20 as being very low; crime levels between 20 and 40 as being low; crime levels between 40 and 60 as being moderate; crime levels between 60 and 80 as being high; and finally crime levels higher than 80 as being very high." Thus, Abu Dhabi is in last place among 288 cities ranked in terms of crime index. Dubai is in 279th place. UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, who is also minister of interior, said the crime indexes of Abu Dhabi and Dubai showed that the UAE has the lowest level of violent crimes in the world.
