Pedestrians have the right of way when crossing roads with speed limits of 40km/hr in residential, school and hospital areas, according to Abu Dhabi Police on Thursday (October 31). The authority also noted that pedestrians can cross in these areas without needing a pedestrian crossing. Under Section 69, drivers who do not give priority to pedestrians in these areas will be fined Dh500 and receive six traffic points. Motorists are advised to always prioritise pedestrians and reduce their speed on these roads. FLE/Expat Media
