Car drifter severely injures woman, ordered to pay Dh20,000 compensation

The Abu Dhabi Family and Civil and Administrative Cases Court ordered a driver to pay Dh20,000 for severely injuring the woman and damaging her car after performing a reckless car stunt. In her lawsuit, the woman said she was driving on one of the roads in Abu Dhabi when the man drifted his car and rammed into her vehicle. She sustained severe injuries in the accident and was brought to a hospital for treatment. Her car was also badly damaged. The police blamed the male driver for causing the accident by breaking traffic rules, which included recklessness and negligence. The man had already been found guilty by the traffic court for the violations and injuring the woman, and was fined Dh5,000. The woman subsequently brought a civil lawsuit for compensation. According to official court records, the woman sued the driver and demanded Dh45,000 as compensation for physical and material damages. In its verdict, the Abu Dhabi court ordered the man to pay the victim Dh20,000 as compensation for the damages. The man will also pay the woman’s legal expenses. KD/Expat Media
