The family of an injured child after a swing fell on her head while playing in an Al Ain public park has been awarded Dh700,000 in damages. The Al Ain Appeals Court upheld a lower court finding that ordered the park management to compensate the child's family. However, the judge raised the compensation from Dh400,000 to Dh700,000. According to court documents, the girl's father filed a lawsuit against the management of the public park in Al Ain and the authority in charge of monitoring, supervising, and following up on its activities, demanding Dh3 million in compensation for his daughter's physical, moral, and material damages. He mentioned that his daughter had gone on a school trip to Al Ain's public park when a swing fell on the students. His daughter was severely injured when the swing struck her in the head. According to a forensic doctor's report, the girl suffered many fractures in her skull bones and damaged her face and neck. According to the study, the child now has short-term memory loss, forgetfulness, frequent headaches, a lack of focus, and a constant disturbance in mood and character, resulting in a 30% lifelong disability due to the incident. According to medical assessments, the plaintiff's daughter suffers from psychological repercussions such as depressive disorder and frustration due to the accident. The First Insurance Criminal Court had already convinced the park administration of negligence, which resulted in the incident that injured the schoolgirl. The child's father then filed a civil lawsuit against the park management. The Al Ain civil court of the first instance had previously ordered the park management to pay the family Dh400,000 in damages. The child's father and the park management appealed the verdict, which upheld the initial ruling but increased the compensation amount to Dh700,000. The park's administration has also been ordered to pay the father's legal fees.
