The Abu Dhabi Police has urged motorists to exercise caution during periods of rain and unstable weather, warning of strict penalties for entering valleys when water is flowing. According to the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, drivers who enter flooded valleys face a Dh2,000 fine, 23 black points on their traffic record, and a 60-day vehicle impoundment. Authorities said the penalty applies regardless of how deep or manageable the water may appear. Police advised motorists to check weather conditions before travelling and to avoid low-lying areas where water can accumulate. Drivers were also reminded to comply with instructions issued by relevant authorities to ensure road safety. Officials said motorists should reduce speed during rainy conditions, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and follow speed limits displayed on road signs and electronic boards.
