The first of its kind drone race will be held in Abu Dhabi in 2025 with a prize pool of $1 million, organizers announced. The A2RL Drone Race is scheduled in April at Yas Marina Circuit and will see top international teams, innovators and research companies compete for the prize. The race will see competitors try to navigate through a sequence of gates, avoiding obstacles, using onboard sensors and computational power Stephane Timpano, CEO of Aspire and A2RL, said the event will see participants navigate their drones through gates and obstacles, adding that it offers a peek into the future of autonomous technology and AI. Registration is open at www.a2rl.io until September 20. Registrants will undergo three stages of screening, including an on-site demo.
