Abu Dhabi bans heavy vehicles starting Dec31

Workers’ buses, trucks and heavy vehicles will be temporarily banned from main roads in Abu Dhabi starting on Sunday (December 31), according to the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police. The ban will be imposed from 7am on December 31 until 7am on Monday (January 1), and will affect key roads, including Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Mussafah Bridge and Al Maqtaa Bridge, according to the traffic authority. Vehicles from public cleaning companies and logistical support companies are exempted from the truck and bus ban. The authority said that traffic patrols will be deployed across all roads, and that traffic surveillance would be intensified to catch violators and ensure traffic flow. ICA/Expat Media
