Abu Dhabi launches new emergency department for blue-collar workers

Local officials have set up a separate emergency department for Mussafah's industrial region, which will assist thousands of blue-collar workers and residents. Lifecare Hospital was granted a license by the Department of Health (DoH) - Abu Dhabi after meeting all the conditions for providing emergency care to citizens of the emirate. The new facility, staffed by seasoned emergency and trauma care specialists, will offer 24-hour medical care and treatment for industrial and occupational construction site accidents, including 999 calls that require rapid medical attention. As part of the launching ceremony, senior officials from Mussafah Municipality and Musaffah Police flagged off the ambulances. Lifecare Hospital, a subsidiary of Burjeel Holdings, has been treating complicated and chronic ailments in the industrial community for the past nine years. It treats cardiac emergencies, strokes, asthma attacks, and allergic responses encountered on industrial and construction sites. The newly opened emergency department can handle many cases, from minor injuries to life-threatening crises, and provides care for all medical and surgical emergencies. The department specializes in wound management, heat strokes, burns, scalds, fractures, dislocations, crush injuries, head injuries, and spinal trauma. It is assisted by a pre-hospital ambulance service that provides CPR and stabilization on the ground. The hospital is strategically located in the heart of the industrial zone of Abu Dhabi, with around half a million population. It is well-connected with the western and Al Dhafra regions.
