A man from Abu Dhabi who assaulted and inflicted head injuries on a woman has been ordered to pay her Dh20,000 in compensation. According to official court documents, the woman filed a lawsuit against the man before the Al Ain Civil Court of First Instance, demanding that he pay her Dh100,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages she incurred as a result of the assaults. According to her claim, the defendant severely beat her, causing injuries to her forehead, left hand, and other portions of her body. She said she could not work for more than 20 days due to her injuries. The suit claims that the attacks tortured her psychologically and affected her integrity. The reason for the attack on the victim was not stated in court filings. He had earlier been convicted by the criminal court and fined Dh3,000. The civil court judge delivered a judgment directing the defendant to pay the victim Dh20,000. The man was also ordered to pay the plaintiff's legal fees.
