A woman sued her ex-husband and asked the Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases to order him to pay her Dh60,000 as damages for the material and emotional harm she suffered. Additionally, she asked the court to order her ex-husband to pay the lawsuit's fees and expenses. The plaintiff stated that she was married to the appellee and that he physically assaulted her, resulting in the pains, bruises, and scratches on her head, face, and right arm detailed in a medical report. The appellee was found guilty and ordered to pay a Dh8,000 fine after the incident was brought before the Criminal Court. A hospital produced the medical report submitted by the complainant in Abu Dhabi, which stated that the beating happened in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The court ordered the appellant to pay his ex-wife Dh20,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages she suffered, in addition to the fees and costs of the lawsuit, pointing out that the criminal verdict condemning the appellee was final and the complainant had suffered material damage as a result of her beating.
