New UAE express bus: What you must know

The Abu Dhabi Express bus service is now in its initial implementation. The new express bus system links travelers to essential places around Abu Dhabi without any stops, created to give additional mobility alternatives for the community. If you're searching for a quick and simple method of transportation in Abu Dhabi, the express bus service might be perfect for you! Here are some things you should know: The Abu Dhabi Express service is available from 5am to 10pm during the week and from 5am to 1am on weekends and on public holidays. The buses travel in a 10-minute interval during peak hours and come every 25 minutes at most outside peak hours. When using the express bus, passengers would have to pay Dh12 in cash to go from one location to another instead of Halifat cards, which is the mode of payment for most public transport in Abu Dhabi. Like any public bus in Abu Dhabi, chewing gum, smoking, and failing to provide your bus card or a ticket can result in a fine. Violating these public transportation laws can result in a fine ranging from Dh100 to Dh500. According to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of Abu Dhabi, there are plans to expand the bus service to other areas such as Al Ain, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Al Shahama, and Al Falah. The service aims to improve synergy between public bus services and expand the bus network's total capacity. The service will organize and eliminate unauthorized transit ways to provide sustainable transportation services throughout the emirate of Abu Dhabi. BKM/ Expat Media
