The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has launched an innovative initiative allowing professionals from diverse fields to enter the teaching profession, regardless of prior teaching qualifications. This groundbreaking program aims to bridge the gap between practical expertise and education, enriching the learning environment with real-world insights. The first-of-its-kind initiative offers both Emiratis and expatriates the chance to become educators after completing a one-year accredited post-graduate course in education that will be paid by ADEK. Successful graduates will be hired in charter schools across Abu Dhabi. Under the initiative, participants will complete a one-year accredited postgraduate diploma in education. ADEK will sponsor the first cohort of 125 candidates, who will undergo training at leading institutions, including Abu Dhabi University and Emirates College for Advanced Education. “This program is a step toward creating a more diverse and inclusive educational landscape,” an ADEK spokesperson stated. “By welcoming professionals with varied backgrounds, we aim to inspire students and bring fresh perspectives to the classroom.” Eligible applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university. ICA/Expat Media
