Abu Dhabi offers free flu vaccine in push for mass vaccination

ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi health officials are offering free flu vaccinations at government hospitals in a renewed push for mass flu vaccination. Medics have urged the public to get vaccinated to help differentiate symptoms of Covid-19 and flu. Both Covid-19 and influenza viruses exhibit similar symptoms, which makes it important to get immunized this year, said Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, chief operations officer of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) SEHA officials said the flu vaccine would be free for residents who visit a government-run hospital. At private clinics and hospitals, the jab is available for Dh25 to Dh50. Officials also said home services in Abu Dhbai and Al Ain would be available to people with existing health conditions and disabilities. Blue-collar workers in the Mussaffah industrial area will be vaccinated after they receive their next Covid-19 test.
