The Abu Dhabi Police have launched an initiative aimed at helping drivers reduce their black points and recover suspended driving licenses. This service is available as part of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, running until September 8, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This year's event, themed "Sustainability and Heritage in a Renewed Spirit," has drawn a large audience interested in the rich traditions of the UAE, while also benefiting from the police’s driver rehabilitation programs. Brigadier Ahmed Juma Al Khaili, Director of the Police Follow-up and Aftercare Department, emphasized that visitors can access black point reduction services directly at the exhibition. These services are particularly beneficial for drivers with 8 to 23 black points, who are at risk of facing penalties or driving restrictions. For drivers with 24 black points, which typically result in the suspension of their driving licenses, Abu Dhabi Police is offering a specific service to help them regain their licenses. Lieutenant Colonel Nahyan Mohammed Bin Zaytoun Al Muhairi, head of the Black Points Programmes Section, explained that drivers can transfer their black points using the Tamm app or by visiting customer service centers at the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate. The service also allows drivers to complete the process in person at the exhibition by heading to counter 7 in the weapons wing and paying Dh800 for black point reduction and Dh2,400 for recovering suspended licenses. Drivers are then required to attend a mandatory rehabilitation course at 4pm at the Knowledge Centre auditorium near Gate 5. This initiative reflects Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment to enhancing road safety while offering rehabilitative services to help drivers maintain responsible driving habits.
