Exhibition at Al-Bawadi Mall aims to combat drug abuse and strengthen preventive measures.

Abu Dhabi Police hosted an awareness exhibition at Al-Bawadi Mall, Makani Al-Ain Mall, to address the issue of drug abuse, promote security and stability within the community. The exhibition, in collaboration with various police departments and strategic partners, aims to reinforce preventive strategies to protect the community from the harmful impacts of drug abuse. Colonel Tahir Gharib Al-Zahri, Director of the Anti-Drugs Directorate, emphasized the police force's commitment to launching campaigns and initiatives focused on educating families, particularly young children, about the dangers of drug abuse, and highlighted the importance of sound guidance, values, and religious teachings to drive the youth away from the risks associated with drug consumption. Al-Zahri also stressed the importance of collaborative efforts among various sectors, including security, social, and media institutions, to combat the drug problem. These joint efforts align with the leadership's approach of using all available means to raise awareness and nurture the potential of the youth for the betterment of the society. The Anti-Drug Administration in Al-Ain played a pivotal role during the exhibition, presenting informative videos and conducting guided lectures to raise awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drugs. Dr. Salem Obaid Al-Amiri, the Director of the Anti-Drug Administration in Al-Ain, commended the administration's consistent engagement with youth and its dedication to guiding them towards suitable therapeutic programs and prevention strategies. Family supervision and parental involvement in children's lives were noted as crucial factors in preventing drug abuse. Dr. Al-Amiri emphasized the importance of spending quality time with children, engaging in positive communication, and promoting their sense of responsibility and confidence. The event included a presentation of the "Opportunity of Hope" initiative through videos and guided lectures, aimed to educate youth about the harmful consequences of drug abuse, with a focus on health implications, presented by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Dahani and Dr. Hussein Al-Attia. The exhibition also provided psychological counseling and medical check-ups to attendees, with a special emphasis on protecting them from various health risks. The event also offered interactive activities for children, including drawing sessions and interactions with sports personalities like "Shihab," all aimed at reinforcing security awareness and positive values. The exhibition encompassed diverse aspects of community well-being, including workshops by Al Ain Cultural Sports Club and presentations by the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band. Heritage plays, history of Abu Dhabi Police, and demonstrations by the Al Ain Traffic Department on road safety were some of the highlights. The exhibition also touched upon themes like cyberbullying, seasonal crimes, and protecting public property Abu Dhabi Civil Defense educated families about fire prevention measures and providing insights into first aid techniques. They also featured engaging displays by the K9 Security Inspection Department and the volunteer team "We are all police," further promoting positive community engagement.
