Around 90,000 Iftar meals to be given to motorists

The Abu Dhabi Police will hand out over 90,000 meal boxes and drinks to motorists at various traffic signals in Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain during Iftar throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative “Feed and Reap Ramadan” was launched on Friday and aimed to provide Iftar meals for drivers who are delayed from reaching home to break fast. With the provided meals, road accidents can be avoided as riders no longer have to speed in order to have Iftar with their families at home. Traffic patrols and volunteers will distribute the Iftar meals at the traffic signals in the Capital, including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank signal, Civil Defense road signal, Mushrif Mall signal, and Prestige Al Khaliyah signal. The meals in Al Ain will be distributed in key locations of Al Maqami and Jami Mall signals. The Iftar meals for drivers initiative has been a product of the partnership of the Abu Dhabi Police and many organizations with the aim to embody the spirit of the holy month through a visible expression of social unity.
