Abu Dhabi Police win UAE SWAT Challenge

With an overall score of 133 points, Abu Dhabi Police Team A was proclaimed champion of the UAE's third SWAT Challenge. The victorious team took home a grand prize of $70,000 for outperforming other teams in five days of grueling tests at Al Rowaiyah Range (about Dh257,000). With 130 points, Dubai Police Team A took second place and received $30,000 (Dh110,000), while Abu Dhabi Police Team B took third place and received $20,000 (Dh73,400). The Dubai Police-organized UAE Swat Challenge 2022 brought together 41 special forces teams from 24 nations to put their mental and physical endurance to the test in five grueling exercises: tactical, assault, officer rescue, tower, and obstacles. This year's challenge featured ten UAE teams, including two each from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah. In its third round, the challenge awarded prizes totaling $170,000 (Dh624,000). The UAE's SWAT Challenge encouraged the exchange of tactical expertise among teams and increased police procedures, said Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, who was present on the final day.
