Motorists in Abu Dhabi will need to slow down starting February 9 as new speed limits take effect on three major roads. The Abu Dhabi Joint Committee for Traffic Safety announced the changes as part of a broader plan to improve road safety across the emirate. The revised speed limits cover the following locations: Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road (E22) From Al Nahda Interchange to Bani Yas Interchange in both directions, the maximum speed will be reduced from 160km/h to 140km/h. From Bani Yas Interchange to just before the bridge complex, also in both directions, the speed limit will drop from 140km/h to 120km/h. Al Rawda Road (E30) In both directions, the speed limit will decrease from 120km/h to 100km/h. Authorities said the move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety for all road users, including motorists, passengers and pedestrians. Drivers are advised to pay close attention to updated road signs and adjust their speed accordingly once the new limits are implemented.
