Abu Dhabi reviews initiatives, projects to support climate action
In addition to the country's achievements in the energy industry, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure - Abu Dhabi assessed its pioneering efforts and most notable projects that support sustainability. The Ministry will also sign a series of agreements to support the UAE's work process and goals for achieving sustainability in various sectors, particularly the energy sector, and to have a positive impact on the issue of climate action, which is one of the most critical challenges facing the entire world. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Energy and Petroleum Sector, said: "The current session of ADSW is of great importance for several reasons, most notably the global changes that have cast a shadow on the climate and the environment." He added: "The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure will highlight, within its participation, the innovative initiatives, projects, ambitious laws and legislation, its distinguished efforts in environmental sustainability and confronting the phenomenon of climate change, and its future goals." He also stated that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has made tangible successes in the field of sustainability and that the UAE has a clear future orientation to achieve climate neutrality, conserve the environment and natural resources, and move forward with its relevant objectives. He emphasized that the UAE prioritizes diversifying energy sources as a safe sanctuary for achieving a balance between sustainable development and environmental preservation and that it is one of the leading countries in using carbon-free energy sources.
