Schools across Abu Dhabi have reinforced a strict ban on students bringing mobile phones and smartwatches to school premises. The move is in line with Ministerial Resolution No. 851 of 2018 concerning student behavior management in educational institutions. School administrations have emphasized that any student found with a mobile phone will have the device confiscated. Parents or guardians will be notified and required to sign Form 24 upon confiscation and Form 25 when the phone is returned. For a first offense, the phone will be held for one month; repeated violations will result in the phone being kept until the end of the academic year. The ban also extends to smartwatches and electronic gaming devices, which will be confiscated immediately. Cameras are also prohibited unless prior coordination and a clear purpose for their use are established. These measures aim to ensure the proper use of technological devices within the school environment, protect privacy, and enhance discipline.
