The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has shut down three restaurants across the emirate for serious food safety violations, including insect infestations and poor hygiene. The restaurants—Mahashi Time and Taste Master in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, and Tasif Restaurant in Al Shahama—were found to have repeated food safety infractions and were temporarily closed this week. Mahashi Time Restaurant was penalized twice and received prior warnings due to the spread of pests and insects and poor hygiene practices, ADAFSA said. Taste Master Restaurant faced even more infractions. “The facility was fined three times and received two warnings of administrative closure due to the spread of pests and insects, poor hygiene, and displaying products without nutrition facts labels,” ADAFSA reported. In Al Shahama, Tasif Restaurant was also closed over similar violations, including pest infestation and inadequate hygiene, as well as selling food items without proper labeling. The authority said the closures would remain in effect until the restaurants meet health and safety requirements and correct all violations. ADAFSA emphasized that all food establishments in Abu Dhabi are subject to routine inspections regardless of size or type of operation.
