Authorities in Abu Dhabi have ordered the closure of Spicy Restaurant Tamil Nadu on Hamdan Street after it was found to be in violation of food safety regulations, endangering public health. The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) issued the administrative closure decision on Friday (February 7). Officials cited serious food safety violations that posed a significant health risk to customers. Authorities in the emirate maintain a zero-tolerance policy on violations that compromise food safety standards. Routine inspections are conducted across the city to ensure compliance, and businesses found guilty of repeated offenses face strict penalties, including closure. In 2024, several dining establishments in the emirate faced similar closures. One eatery was shut down due to dirty refrigerators and unsanitary kitchen conditions, while a burger café was forced to close after three warnings for high-risk violations. ICA/Expat Media
