Abu Dhabi to launch vocational rehabilitation programme for violence, abuse survivors

A new partnership between two corporations will provide vocational rehabilitation to Abu Dhabi victims of abuse, violence, and human trafficking. On Thursday (April 7), the Abu Dhabi Centre for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care - Ewaa announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts, an Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) project, to activate a cooperative mechanism aimed at vocational rehabilitation of human trafficking and violence and abuse victims. Both parties are committed to working together on social and humanitarian issues, as evidenced by the MoU. It is intended to supplement Ewaa's 360 Model of Care by guaranteeing victim reintegration and additional empowerment within their communities. This will be accomplished under the agreement by conducting handicrafts training programs for Ewaa's beneficiaries at Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts' facilities, as well as knowledge sharing and exchange between the two parties. Courses and workshops will be set up, with qualified trainers and supervisors appointed to provide instruction and training to the beneficiaries. The memorandum was signed in the presence of other officials from both sides by Sarah Shuhail, Director-General of Ewaa, and Hamoud Al Junaibi, Deputy Secretary-General for Marketing and Resources Development. "In line with our role in rehabilitating and empowering those who suffered from violence and abuse and human trafficking, Ewaa is committed to ensuring continuous collaboration with various stakeholders and expanding its network of partnerships. The strengthening of our collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent projects, including Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts, will help us enhance the process," Sarah Shuhail remarked. Hamoud Al Junaibi praised Ewaa for providing comprehensive care to victims and hailed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, which paves the path for the growth of positive humanitarian and development collaborations. He stated that ERC will make every effort to put the agreement into effect. “We strive to achieve our goals by facilitating rehabilitation for victims that enables them to be independent and reintegrate into their societies,” he added.
