Don’t fall for fake money exchange dealers with “lucrative” offers, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) warned UAE residents and tourists. According to the authority, the unauthorized “money changers” offer fake currency bills or get their money from illegal sources, such as money laundering. “Scammers, fraudsters, and currency counterfeiting gangs take advantage of the holiday period to offer foreign currencies at reduced prices through social media. These gangs lure people through social media platforms and advertisements. People should avoid such ‘lucrative’ offers and refrain from exchanging money using such dubious deals,” according to ADJD. The authority advised the public to only deal with authorised money exchange houses or banks when exchanging foreign currency. ICA/Expat Media
