A 15-year employee in Abu Dhabi has won a labour dispute, with the Primary Labour Court ordering his former employer to pay him Dh57,400 in unpaid wages, gratuity, and other entitlements. The case began when the worker filed a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), alleging unpaid wages for five months, eight years of unused leave, gratuity, overtime pay, and an experience certificate. Court records showed he was owed four months of wages (Dh14,000), two years’ leave allowance (Dh5,600), and an end-of-service gratuity for 15 years, six months, and 26 days (Dh37,800, as claimed). His overtime pay request was rejected due to lack of proof. The court also ordered the company to cover legal fees and issue an experience certificate. ICA/Expat Media
