Sheikh Ahmed tops in Forbes Middle East Leaders

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group ranked first in the Travel and Tourism Leaders in Forbes Middle East. The list featured the top 50 leaders whose desire to reconnect with the world was realized through the growth of the Middle East’s travel and tourism industry. Fellow UAE leader and Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths is in third place in the list. Emirates Airline and Group reached $6.7 billion in revenue for the first half of the 2021/2022 fiscal year. This month’s list was dominated by 24 UAE leaders, followed by 11 leaders based in Saudi Arabia and four leaders in Egypt. In terms of sectors, hotels and hospitality have the majority of 26 entries, followed by aviation with 17 entries and the tourism sector with seven entries. KSO/Expat Media
