Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño get gov't posts

  MANILA – Couple Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño are the latest celebrities to be given positions in the Duterte administration. In a text message to ABS-CBN News, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that Seguerra has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Youth Commission (NYC) and will serve in the post for three years. Seguerra will take over the post from former NYC chairman Gio Tingson. Abella said that Diño, on the other hand, will serve as chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) for three years. She will replace  current FDCP chairman Briccio Santos. The celebrity couple have been staunch supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte. During a recent visit to Dubai, Seguerra had said she was open to accepting a post in the Duterte administration in given the chance. “Yes. I would,” Seguerra said, responding to a question from ExpatMedia.Net during her press conference in Dubai one day ahead of her concert at the Dubai World Trade Centre on August 5. Duterte has appointed comedian Arnell Ignacio as Assistant Vice President for the community relation and services department of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), while singer Jimmy Bondoc was given the post of Assistant Vice President for Entertainment at Pagcor. “I just want to make it clear that we didn’t do any campaign for him because of any kapalit (favour). We because we believe in the guy,” Seguerra said. “And if he were to offer us anything na feeling ko nakakatulong sa mga tao, na magkakaroon ako ng posisyon para maipaglaban ang mga taong oppressed, para maisulong ang mga karapatan ng mga tao, then I would (If he were to offer us anything that would help the people and where I am given a post where I could fight for the oppressed and push for their rights, then I would),” she said. She had expressed interest in the arts and culture, something she said she could "effect change". However, she said any position offered is also fine. "So kahit ano pa man yan. But if ilalagay ako sa posisyon yung feeling mas lalapit ako sa tao, mas makakapag bigay ako ng serbisyo sa tao (Whatever it is.
