An Arab “Superman” and two other Arab accomplices have been arrested after they committed a daring heist in the Ajman Gold Market and stole Dh1.1 million worth of gold jewellery. Ajman Police said the suspects also stole Dh40,000 in cash. The suspects were arrested within 12 hours of the crime being reported, police said. The stolen cash and jewellery were recovered. Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of Criminal Investigations Department at Ajman Police, said the suspects had robbed a shop in the Ajman Gold Market and then attempted to evade identification by wearing facemasks and changing their clothes several times. Police identified the suspects as S.A., who was arrested in the industrial area and tagged as the mastermind; A.G., who was arrested in Sharjah; and T.D., who was arrested in Ajman’s Rumaila area. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to splitting up their loot and dispersing to various locations to evade arrest. They will now be referred to the prosecution for legal action.
