A 48-year-old Indian expat from Ajman is celebrating a life-changing windfall after winning $1 million (Dh3.67 million) in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw. Subhash Madam, who works at a mobile shop in Sanaiya Industrial Area, struck lucky with ticket number 2550, which he purchased online on September 12. His win was announced on Wednesday (October 1) at Concourse C of Dubai International Airport. “Thank you so much Dubai Duty Free! I will never forget this day,” said Madam, a father of one who has been living in the UAE for 14 years. He has been taking part in the promotion for the past two years. Hailing from Kerala, Madam becomes the 260th Indian national to scoop the $1 million jackpot since the raffle began. Indians continue to dominate the list of biggest winners in the long-running draw. The event also featured the Finest Surprise draw for luxury vehicles. French national Pietra Stephane won a Land Rover Defender 110 V8 HSE P525, though organizers said he is currently unreachable. Meanwhile, 31-year-old British expat Syed Suliman, a first-time ticket buyer of Turkish origin, walked away with a motorbike prize, saying: “Thank you, Dubai Duty Free, for the opportunity to win with my very first ticket… I can’t wait to ride this motorbike on the roads of Dubai!” Another Indian winner, 52-year-old tailor Kunchu Moideen Madakkan, who has been participating for six years, finally struck luck with a BMW S 1000 R motorbike. “Finally, after a long time, I’ve won with Dubai Duty Free!
