Police have raided a secret warehouse for fake car lubricants and arrested an Asian man suspected of selling and storing the counterfeit products, according to Ajman Police on Wednesday (June 26). Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Naeimi, Director of the Investigations and Criminal Investigations Department of Ajman Police, said police received a tipoff that fake car lubricants were kept in a warehouse that was used to produce, pack and sell the fake products in Ajman’s new industrial zone. Al Naeimi said that Ajman Police formed a team of investigators to corroborate the anonymous tip, and found that a man with previous criminal record was running the illegal business. Police then raided the warehouse and found large quantities of fake car lubricants. Police also arrested the suspected mastermind, who is a resident of Ajman. During interrogation, the man admitted to packing cans of car oils and lubricants to sell them to companies in the UAE. It is not clear if the companies knowingly or unknowingly purchased the fake products from him. He is expected to face legal action. Meanwhile, Ajman Police urged the public to avoid buying imitation goods, saying that conspiring to commit commercial fraud crimes is punishable under the UAE law. ICA/Expat Media
