A young girl has been honoured by Ajman Police after she handed over money she found in a public place, earning praise for her honesty and strong values. Shaima Ali was recognised during a ceremony at Musheiref Comprehensive Police Station on Wednesday (November 26). The event was attended by Brigadier Sultan Khalifa Al Muhairi, Director General of Resources and Support Services; Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Shaiba, Head of the Musheiref station; and Shaima’s father. Police said the girl found a sum of money and immediately asked her older sister to take her to the nearest police station. She turned in the cash “in an embodiment of the values of honesty and civilised behaviour” that Ajman Police encourage among children and youth. The police did not disclose the amount or location where it was found. ALSO READ: Dubai issues new law on lost and found items Brigadier Al Muhairi praised Shaima’s actions, saying they reflect “good upbringing and strong community awareness,” and help promote a culture of returning lost property. He added that recognising such positive role models reflects the leadership’s commitment to instilling noble values in the younger generation and encouraging ethical behaviour. At the end of the ceremony, Ajman Police presented Shaima with a certificate of appreciation and a gift, while also thanking her family for helping instil integrity and community responsibility.
