Ajman Ruler helps reunite father and son separated for six years

  DUBAI – A Syrian resident in Ajman got the gift of a lifetime after Ajman's ruler helped him reunite with a son he hasn't seen in the last six years. The Syrian man, whom the royal court of Ajman did not name, reportedly hasn't seen his son in years as the latter was having difficulty leaving Syria due to the ongoing crisis there. Desperate for help, the Syrian father turned to His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. After hearing of the request, Sheikh Humaid issued a visa to the son and arranged for him to visit the palace as soon as he arrived in the UAE. The sheikh also asked the father to meet him at the palace. Video clips of the emotional reunion surfaced on social media on Monday (May 8, showing Sheikh Humaid and the father seated quietly in the palace receiving room before the son arrived. The khandoura-clad father quickly rose from his chair t as soon as he saw his son--dressed in a long-sleeved shirt, grey pants and black sneakers--striding into the room and wrapping him in a tight embrace. The emotional reunion appeared to have touched Sheikh Humaid as well, as the Ajman Ruler was seen grabbing a pair of tissue paper and dabbing his eyes. Following the incident, Emirati businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor offered the Syrian father a car of his choice. The Syrian was to choose any new car from Al Habtoor's showrooms.
