Ajman school slammed after hot water poured on Pakistani boy

DUBAI – A police case has been filed against a school in Ajman after a 10-year-old male student suffered second-degree burns when another student allegedly poured hot water on his head. The victim, identified as Hamdan Mohammad, will reportedly need plastic surgery on his left ear after the hot water badly scalded his skin. A hospital report confirmed that the victim suffered burns and was possibly assaulted. The victim’s mother, Yasmeen Ahmed, said the school’s “negligence” left her son traumatised after the incident. Ahmed told the media that she has also filed a complaint with the Ministry of Education against the Royal Academy in Ajman. The boy was reportedly bullied in class on June 12, and his classmate allegedly opened a flask of hot water and poured the contents on Hamdan’s head. The boy’s mother said there was no teacher in class to supervise the students at the time of the incident. The principal of the Royal Academy, according to a Gulf News report, said that the student was the one who poured hot water on his head, and was treated at the school clinic.
