The Hollowmeat Restaurant in Al Ain has been shut down after an insect infestation in its premises, according to the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA). The ADAFSA report noted that insects were detected on meat, sinks and utensil storage area during an inspection of the restaurant. The restaurant in Al Ain’s Al Hili area serves north Indian cuisine and grills. The restaurant’s repeated violations “posed a significant threat to public health”, said ADAFSA, adding that Hollowmeat Restaurant received three fines but did not correct the violations pointed out by inspectors. According to the authority, the restaurant would remain closed until it meets all requirements for food safety.
