The Sharjah Public Works Department has announced that Al Marija Street—from Al Arouba Street to Al Marija Square—will be partially closed starting Thursday (April 17) until October 16. The closure supports the Middle Line Project, which focuses on building a modern rainwater and groundwater drainage system aimed at reducing waterlogging during the rainy season. The department said the project is crucial to enhancing Sharjah’s infrastructure and will ensure smooth traffic flow even during heavy rains. It includes the development of an advanced network that aligns with the city’s urban expansion and population density. “To minimize traffic disruption, alternative routes have been designated and shared across social media,” according to Sharjah Public Works Department. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes and follow traffic signs. The department emphasized its commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards while carrying out the project in coordination with relevant authorities. ICA/Expat Media
