Aladdin rides magic carpet on Dubai streets, seas

DUBAI – A video of a man dressed as Aladdin while riding a “magic carpet” on the streets and seas of Dubai has resurfaced on social media. The man behind the stunt was later revealed as Dubai-based American Youtuber Mark Daton, known as Rhyz. “This video took A LOT of time and resources to produce.. I drank so much seawater making this ,” Daton said in his YouTube channel RhyzOrDie. In the video, Daton as Aladdin is seen riding his magic carpet in Gold Souq, on water and through the busy streets of Bur Dubai where he drove against the flow of traffic and even ran into a Dubai Police patrol car! “He was laughing,” he said, referring to the policeman in the car as he whizzed past it. The video, which was uploaded on November 1, has gotten more than 50,000 views as of Wednesday (November 17). To carry out the stunt, Daton reportedly used an electric skateboard and hoverboard covered with a carpet to make it look like the magic carpet from the popular Disney animated film. To complete the look, Daton wore his Aladdin costume that his friend created for him. The whole new world that this expat Aladdin created definitely left Dubai chuckling!
